Fixed Hybrid Dental Implant Treatment
Wearing a removable denture or partial can make some people feel self-conscious or have difficulty eating and speaking. The fact is, many people don’t smile or laugh as much as they used to. Why? Because they’re afraid their denture or bridgework will slip out of place. Due to their bulky size and fit, dentures make it challenging to chew or enjoy the taste of your food.
Fortunately, there’s a permanent alternative to wearing dentures. Dr. David Todd is one of the few providers in the western New York area with the advanced training, technology, and experience required to provide Fixed Hybrid Treatment. This one-of-a-kind procedure allows you to immediately replace all of your upper or lower teeth with as few as four dental implants. Each implant is strategically placed to provide a natural-looking and durable restoration that returns your smile back to its original level of function and integrity. It’s almost like having natural teeth all over again.
How Fixed Hybrid Treatment Works
Fixed Hybrid Treatment is different than conventional tooth replacement treatments like bridges or dentures. Instead, an innovative placement process saves patients time and money, while also eliminating removable prosthetics. It works by placing implants at an angle, bypassing the need for bone grafting, and reducing typical treatment times by up to several months.
Advantages of getting a Fixed Hybrid Treatment include:
- A 98% success rate
- The ability to immediately place a fixed restoration on the day of your implant installation
- Being able to bite and chew with the same strength as natural teeth
- Improved speech patterns, thanks to the streamlined design
- Enhanced comfort and confidence
- Natural support of your facial profile
Your Fixed Hybrid Treatment makes it possible to complete any necessary tooth extractions, install dental implants, and attach a fixed temporary prosthesis all in one appointment. The detailed planning process is key to making this process a success. Dr. Todd’s skill and resources enable our office to digitally plan the placement of your implants for the highest level of accuracy.
The entire procedure is completed under sedation or general anesthesia, to ensure that you’re as comfortable as possible. When you feel at ease, it allows Dr. Todd to work more efficiently. First, we remove any teeth that need to be taken out, and then we place the dental implants (anywhere from 4-7, depending on the situation.) Finally, the healing prosthesis is attached. During the next few months, you’ll want to take extra care of your implants, surgical site, and adhere to a relatively soft diet.
When your implants are permanently integrated (full osseointegration has occurred) we can replace your temporary prosthesis with the permanent hybrid version.
What Do They Look Like?
Your Fixed Hybrid Treatment is designed to look like a natural smile. You can even request a certain shade or shape of teeth if you like. The confidence you’ll feel from being able to speak and eat without a removable prosthesis is second to none. That’s why they’re such an amazing alternative to conventional dentures and bridgework.
